What is C-Change Conversations?

C-Change Conversations is a nonpartisan nonprofit that helps people understand the science and risks of climate change and why it matters in daily life. We focus on respectful, fact-based communication that resonates across the political spectrum and specialize in reaching audiences who may feel cautious, skeptical, or simply overwhelmed by the topic.

Who is the founder of C-Change Conversations?

Kathleen Biggins founded C-Change Conversations in 2014. She recognized that although climate change was a significant risk, few people were talking about it because it was seen as such a polarizing and far-off topic. She pulled together a group to create C-Change Conversations with the goal of depoliticizing the issue and helping others understand how it might impact them personally. She also created the C-Change Primer.

Why do you focus on nonpartisan communication?

Climate change impacts everyone, regardless of their politics. We believe solutions start with common ground. By removing partisan language, we create a safe, productive space for conversation and understanding.

Where are you based? Do you travel?

Our team is based in the Princeton, NJ, area, and we present nationwide. We have presented in more than 33 states, reaching more than 23,000 people in communities, corporations, faith groups, civic organizations, schools, and more. We also have affiliates in Athens, GA, and Columbia, SC. In addition, we can present online to reach audiences globally.

The Primer

What is the C-Change Primer?

The Primer is our flagship, multimedia presentation on climate science, how changes impact our health, our economy, and our national security – and practical solutions that can reduce our risks. It is designed with input from scientists, business leaders, and policy experts.

Our Climate Primer is geared to a general audience interested in boosting their understanding of the issue – and we offer it in Spanish as well. We also tailor presentations to delve into how climate change affects health, business, and real estate, as well as versions designed specifically for highlighting the opportunities being presented for high school and college audiences.

Who is it for?

Everyone! We have presented to social and community groups, clubs, faith communities, civic and professional organizations, high school and university students, and businesses seeking a constructive, nonpartisan guide to climate risk and opportunity. This includes Rotary International, Junior Leagues, chambers of commerce, garden clubs, investment clubs, real estate companies and associations, Princeton University, Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, Villanova University, University of Georgia, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and global businesses such as Bank Australia.

How long is it?

Typically 45–60 minutes plus Q&A. We can tailor length to best address your audience.

Can you localize the content for my city or region?

Yes. We incorporate local data, stories, and examples so audiences see how climate change affects their community.

Do you offer virtual programs?

Yes. We present in person and virtually to reach any audiences.

How much does it cost to host a Primer?

As a nonprofit, we rely on contributions to underwrite our work. Many hosts make a tax-deductible donation to cover presentation travel costs.

Impact & Results

Does the Primer change minds?

Independent feedback shows that audiences – including people who started out cautious about the topic – leave our Primers more informed, more concerned, and more motivated to act. Our approach emphasizes common ground and relatable examples.

What makes your approach different?

We frame climate change as a human and community issue, not a political one, and keep the tone respectful and science-based.

What do others say about C-Change presentations?
Read our testimonials.

“The global warming presentation made by Kathleen Biggins with C-Change Conversations opened my eyes in so many ways. She recently presented to my YPO (Young Presidents Organization) chapter and to say it was impressive is an understatement. I am not a climate change skeptic, but I did have some unanswered questions. By the end of her presentation, she had answered and/or disproven in a completely non-partisan way any preconceived ideas I had on the subject. I cannot wait to hear her present again and witness how many people’s eyes she can open to the reality of the situation!”

J Scott Mattei, United Capital Group LP, Charlotte, NC

“I was impressed with C-Change’s ability to take abstract climate data and make it something that is understandable, relatable and, more importantly, actionable. Our team was blown away by the combination of historical context and present-day insights that explained both the scientific and political environment in which we have been and still are fighting climate change. This was a truly impactful presentation for our company. I highly recommend it for any group, but especially businesses who want to ensure their employees have a working understanding of this existential threat.”

Adam Kramer, CEO, Ledger8760, Reno, NV

“If you have residents that are skeptical about the science of climate change, a C-Change presentation is right for your community. The presentation is persuasive, yet delivered in a non-partisan and engaging way that even skeptics would find compelling. You will leave this presentation knowing more, asking more, and expecting more of yourself, local businesses, and your government.”

Steve Hagerty, Mayor of Evanston, Illinois

“C-Change Conversations made a topic that college students have ‘big feelings’ about, feel approachable, understandable, and, perhaps most importantly, solvable. Without skating over the very real climate-related challenges facing Gen Z, Kathleen and her team provided fact-based examples of promising developments in addressing the climate crisis from around the world that made a daunting subject more manageable. Students came away with a clearer sense of how to frame the conversation around climate change more productively and with a renewed sense of hope.”

Catherine Meeks Quinlan, Associate Lecturer of English, Co-Director of Environmental Studies, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
