Kim began her career as a nurse, and then practiced law in the pharmaceutical industry, providing counsel to R&D teams developing new treatments for cancer. Kim left her work as an attorney to pursue her interests in the environment, health and wildlife in the non-profit sector, and has served on a local environmental commission and health-related non-profit boards. Kim graduated from Georgetown University, received an MSN from University of Pennsylvania and her law degree from Temple University.
